'Slasher' Lane cuts his squad down

Manager Andrew Lane has decided to cut his squad down before the season has even started. Laney ordered his squad back to pre-season training on 13th June and booked friendlies throughout August. He then signed on 28 players in preparation for the first friendly but decided this was too many and got rid of several players, including last season's first choice keeper James Bishop, in time for the 2nd friendly. The squad is now down to 20 players but Laney is still considering making further cuts before the first league game on 5th September.

Manager not happy!!

Manager not happy!!

FC Berksalona manager Andrew Lane returned from holiday to find out that his team, who had a chance of finishing 2nd before he left, finished 6th having not won any of their last 3 games whilst he was away. 'Laney' left captain Wayne Hunt and Darren Cornell in charge but they found themselves faced with players being on holiday, injured or just hungover and struggled to field a team for the last 3 games. When Laney returned and found out the results he immediately ordered his squad to return to pre-season training at the end of June - 10 weeks before the start of the 2010/2011 season, in a bid to get his team ready for another campaign in Division 4 of the Reading Sunday League.
